Bell Bowls

Cast from a hand carved Oamaru stone original, this oval bell has unique sound qualities due to it’s asymmetric shape. The ring changes subtly, depending on where you strike it.

A really encouraging response from the good people of Christchurch
The response to my work has been encouraging, with Wash the Mind, Open the Heart getting a lot of engagement from children in particular (they love being able to give it a good whack), and A Call to Restoration having quite an emotional impact for some, with one fellow artist being reminded (by the vibrations) of the earthquakes. The effect of the wooden floor amplifying the bell sounds was an unanticipated bonus.
